Clam Chowder

1 cube butter
1 c. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt & pepper
2 c. diced potatoes
3/4 c. flour paste (flour mixed in water for thickening)
2 cans clams & juice
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 qt. milk or half & half


Cook vegetables separately. Add salt. Add milk, add butter and flour paste to milk. Add clams and vegetables. Simmer for 20 minutes.
